Itโ€™s not possible to OTAP directly from G603.07.03kX (or older versions of G603) to G604.08.08kX because a memory layout change was needed to accommodate the larger ROM footprint of G604.08.08kX.

Devices running G603.07.03kX and older firmware can only take firmware image update files of 384KB and smaller โ€“ this includes all G603.07.xx firmware, but not any of the G604.xx.xx firmware.

G603.07.04kX and newer (and all G604) can OTAP firmware image files up to 448k. โ€“ big enough for GNX6 firmware up to G604.08.08kX.

If the device is on G603.07.03kX or below, first upgrade to G603.07.04kX and then to any G604 firmware version up to and including G604.08.08kX.

To OTAP to firmware versions beyond G604.08.09 requires upgrading first to G604.08.09 for the same reasons, a further change in memory layout to accommodate still larger firmware images. So the process would be:
Less than or equal to G603.07.03kX => G603.07.04kX => G604.07.09kX => firmware versions greater than this.
