REQUIREMENTS:

  • A normal Serial DB-9 cable 9 PIN is used to connect serial host to the ALEOS gateway.

  • The serial host behind the gateway needs to be PPP aware and knows how to initiate a PPP connection in order to be able to talk to the gateway (Otherwise serial host will not be able ping gateway and vice versa).

  • Serial PPP default subnet may be changed:

>> Device PPP IP Sets the device IP address: 192.168.15.31
>> Host PPP IP Sets the host IP address: 192.168.15.100

  • Port forwarding rule will need to reflect the Host PPP IP address: 192.168.15.100

CONFIGURATION:

  • ACEmanager: Serial > RS232 Configuration > General > RS232 > RS232 Port = Enable

  • ACEmanager: Serial > RS232 Configuration > General > RS232 > Startup Mode Default = PPP

  • ACEmanager: Serial > RS232 Configuration > PPP:

>> Device PPP IP Sets the device IP address: 192.168.15.31
>> Host PPP IP Sets the host IP address: 192.168.15.100
>> Host Authentication Mode = NONE (Can be Modified if needed).

  • ACEmanager: Security > Port Forwarding > Port Forwarding = Enable

  • ACEmanager: Security > Port Forwarding > Port Forwarding > Add More and populate the table with the related TCP/UDP listening ports and Serial Host IP.

>> Port forwarding rule will need to reflect the Host PPP IP address: Ex (192.168.15.100)
